DANCER EXPECTATIONS
The goal for any dancer is to enjoy improving one’s skill in the art they love. Therefore, dancers are encouraged to exhibit dedication and commitment to their dance studies and the Ardrossan Yatran Dance Association. As Yatran dancers, they are ambassadors and role models for the community. The conduct and actions of the dancers is a direct reflection of Ardrossan Yatran Dance Association and the surrounding community. It is important that dancers present a positive demeanor and act in an appropriate manner at all times.
Membership in  the group requires a dancer to attend all rehearsals. Any dancer who has three or more inexcusable absences jeopardizes his/her  participation in the dance performances and/or competitions. If a dancer will be absent due to illness, injury, schooling, etc., it is the parent’s responsibility to provide notification to your Group Rep., who will notify the proper Instructor. Injured dancers, where possible, should attend rehearsals to observe.
It is expected that  dance performances and rehearsals should take priority,Exceptions should be discussed prior to any event with the Group Rep and instructor . Failure to do so may result in exclusion from upcoming events.
Dancers are to arrive on time for rehearsals. While in the waiting area, dancers are to avoid creating undue noise so as not to distract the dancers whom are in rehearsal. Dancers/parents are not to enter the dance studio until such time as the instructor invites them to do so. (viewing of progress will be the last Monday of every month or as the Instructor sees fit). Drinking and/or eating during rehearsals is not permitted. Chewing gum is strictly prohibited.
The following attire is to be worn for rehearsals:
             Females:
dance slippers or jazz shoes
black body suit, tights (black or white character or ballet skirt)
hair is to be pulled back in a bun or French braid
jewelry is not to be worn.
             Males:
dance slippers or jazz shoes
black shorts (non baggy) or tight black pants
solid color T-shirt
jewelry is not to be worn.

Appropriate dance attire is essential to reduce risk of injury.
Proper footwear is mandatory for maneuverability and support, while clothing must enable the               instructor to ensure proper body positioning and to allow the dancer to facilitate use of                         costumes.
A neat, clean and safe presentation should always be strived for.

DANCER BEHAVIOR
If, in the opinion of an Instructor, the student’s behavior is not satisfactory, the student will be asked to leave the studio area and explain to their parent/guardian the reason for the removal. The student will not be able to rejoin the session, as the Instructors are there to instruct and do not have time to deal with the issue. The Instructor will notify the President or Vice President of the situation and it will be looked into at that point.
PARENT EXPECTATIONS
Ardrossan Ukrainian Dance Association is run by a volunteer executive committee, therefore parents are strongly encouraged to become actively involved by volunteering their skills, talents and efforts.
The Association existence depends on parent input and involvement. Elections for executive positions occur at a Annual Meeting in April or May for the upcoming season. Standing committee positions and group representatives are elected at the September General Meeting.
